Green Smoothie for Weight Loss

 

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you know how much I adore smoothies. If the year has 365 days, I have 1l smoothie on 350 of them. Most of the times I make a smoothie for breakfast but I also like to have one after a workout, for example.

Today I’m going to share with you the smoothie I’m having right now for breakfast. The recipe calls for super easy ingredients and only 5 minutes preparation time. Why exactly this recipe? Because it’s great for maintaining healthy weight, losing excess weight and feeling good.

Just look how gorgeous it looks. And I assure you that it also tastes yummy.

You can shop the ingredients at the farmers’ market or at the local shop you usually do your groceries, however, the superfoods might need to be ordered online. I’ve added hemp flour, coconut flour, raw triphala and flax seeds into this recipe. Flax seeds, of course, you can find in any shop as well as coconut flour. If you find it difficult to purchase raw triphala powder or hemp flour, you can either message me for help or try to replace them with another super food such as chia seeds and spirulina.

The turmeric root is essential. I wouldn’t remove it from the recipe as weight loss requires a lot of immunity boost, detox and internal cleanse. I suggest that you look online and try to find organic turmeric roots for your kitchen. They do last up to a month inside the refrigerator, so don’t worry if you see them sold in packs of 150 g, it’s okay.

Green Smoothie for Weight Loss

The ingredients in this smoothie help maintain healthy weight and are easy to shop almost anywhere. We have fresh spinach, lemon, pineapple and bananas, and the turmeric root is now available on many shops online.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup ripe pineapple
  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 small turmeric root, with the peel
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tsp hemp seed powder
  • 1 tsp coconut flour
  • 1 tsp flax seeds, ground
  • 1 tsp raw triphala powder
  • coconut milk to blend

Instructions
 

  • Wash the spinach and add it to the blending cup.
    Add the fruits, superfoods and lemon juice.
    Pour coconut milk so it covers the ingredients.
    You can replace the coconut milk with almond milk if you prefer.
    Blend until smooth and enjoy fresh.

Consume it fresh as it then contains the most antioxidants and vitamins. One litre is more than enough and the recipe calls for exactly one litre of smoothie.

This smoothie is also high in plant protein that comes from the hemp flour and of course, from all the other ingredients, as well as is high in fiber which is one of the top 3 must-do things when we aim for weight loss.
